ANNIHILATION
The purpose of this poster series was to visually represent the surreal imagery found in the novel Annihilation by Jeff Vandermeer. In Annihilation our main character "The Biologist" writes journal entries about her experience in a closed off section of the earth called Area X. Within Area X an unexplainable force has taken over the ecosystem. This force mirrors nature as we perceive it, yet remains utterly alien. To manifest this duality I wanted to create forms that appear like they could be a part of our natural world. However, when one takes a closer look they slowly realize that they are an anomaly of our environment. The base forms were generated from fractals, then modified in Cinema 4D and rendered in Octane.
